National Building Museum hosts “The Big Build 2017”

Tuesday November 28, 2017

On Saturday, October 14, kids of all ages descended upon the National Building Museum to discover what it’s like to be a builder for a day during The Big Build 2017. This hands-on festival of tools, trucks, construction and design gave amateur builders young and old the opportunity to meet plumbers, electricians, ironworkers, landscape architects, woodworkers and experts in many other fields to learn about their professions and hobbies. Check out this video to see our young builders don hard hats, pour cement, spackle walls and much more during their work side-by-side with designers, builders and artisans demonstrating their skills.

The Big Build is just one of the many free family-friendly events hosted at the National Building Museum, which is located at 401 F Street NW just steps from the MVT CID. The National Building Museum is America’s leading cultural institution devoted to interpreting the history and impact of the built environment. It does this do this by telling the stories of architecture, engineering and design.

Visit the museum’s events calendar to learn more about their many events for kids, families and adults and plan your next trip today!
