Felizmente Unidos at dLeña

Friday November 12, 2021

Chef Richard Sandoval recently announced the launch of his Felízmente Unidos dining experience this holiday season [Tuesday, November 16 through Monday, January 3] at dLeña located at 476 K Street NW. The Felízmente Unidos campaign is built around two key elements symbolizing unity and coming together: the estrella (seven cone star) and aguinaldos (the gifts). While the estrella represents hope for the future, togetherness, and unity, the aguinaldos represents gratitude. Chef Sandoval has partnered with Víctor Meléndez, a designer and artist from Mexico, now based in Seattle, whose work is a combination of bold lines, vivid colors, organic forms, and mysterious, spellbinding characters.

Like the estrella piñata or bag of aguinaldos, the Felízmente Unidos food and drink specials also have a reveal element and parallel festive flavors like hibiscus and orange as seen in the traditional aguinaldos. Enjoy featured dishes like Ensalada de Noche Buena, a holiday salad with roasted heirloom beets, green apple, jicama, mandarin, candied peanuts, pomegranate, and orange-hibiscus vinaigrette, Lomo de Cerdo, a guajillo chili adobo grilled pork chop, creamy mashed potatoes, roasted heirloom carrots, chipotle-cranberry sauce, and Sabores Navideños with crispy buñuelo, piloncillo honey, caramelized apples, cinnamon, pecan, raisins and vanilla ice cream. The Felízmente Unidos beverage offerings include the Toddy Caliente, a hot cocktail with spiced rum, lime, honey, cinnamon and orange, Feliz Margarita with tequila, triple sec, spiced cranberry, ginger, lemon, orange, Sparkling Sopresa with sparkling wine, hibiscus syrup, Chambord, dehydrated hibiscus blossom, and the non-alcoholic Buena Vista with pineapple, passion fruit, orange jalapeño simple syrup and soda.

In addition to its Felízmente Unidos campaign, dLeña will offer special programming throughout the holiday season. Enjoy brunch offerings on Black Friday, November 26, from 10am to 3pm, and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022, from 10am to 4pm. The restaurant will offer its dinner service on Christmas Eve, December 24, with the last seating at 8pm. On New Year’s Eve, December 31, indulge in a celebratory five-course prix-fixe dinner for $140 per person, which includes Grilled Wagyu Guacamole, Crab Cake Tostada, Carnitas Duck Confit, Mezcal Tres Leches and more. Take the celebration downstairs as dLeña ROJA will feature live music from 9am to 2am on New Year’s Eve, including a complimentary midnight champagne toast. Celebrate these holidays and any other occasion on dLeña’s winterized patio as heaters are now available.

Those looking to gift something for a tequila or mezcal aficionado this holiday season should look no further than the dLeña ROJA tequila lockers, able to be reserved for six-month leases. Stored and made available anytime they visit, guests enjoy access to their own private stash of tequila and mezcal from dLeña ROJA’s library of over 300 spirits.
