Make an Impact in Your Mount Vernon Triangle Community this Giving Tuesday!

Tuesday December 3, 2024

On this Giving Tuesday, we are thrilled to reintroduce you to the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Foundation (MVTCF) and ask that you consider making a tax-deductible donation toward its mission to complement and elevate the work of the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District through civic and philanthropic initiatives including:

  1. Parks and open space maintenance;
  2. Infrastructure and public realm improvements;
  3. Community events and programming;
  4. Arts and cultural activations; and
  5. Human support.

MVTCF was established in late 2023 as a charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and we are excited to announce that its first significant donation has already been received. Local musician, writer, educator, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Myrna Sislen is currently working with MVTCF to donate the “Star Court Pavilion” sculptural artwork and shaded seating structure (pictured, below) that will be the future anchor of Cobb Park. We are grateful for Ms. Sislen’s partnership and philanthropy, and look forward to providing more updates on the project as they develop.

Dedicated Triangle Times readers might also recall that we soft-launched MVTCF back in August with our partnership with bartaco’s #givingtaco campaign that resulted in nearly $2,000 in contributions to MVTCF!

We invite you to sign up for MVTCF’s mailing list to be the first to receive direct communication on future initiatives.
