Cobb Park Community Meeting Recap

Thursday September 26, 2024

Last Thursday, project leaders from DC’s Department of General Services (DGS) and Parks and Recreation (DPR) provided the community an update on the status of the Cobb Park redevelopment project. At the meeting, project officials presented playground design options, reviewed the final site layout, and outlined an anticipated schedule for construction. All of this information can be found on the Cobb Park project page at https://dgs.dc.gov/page/cobb-park-renovation.

Notably, the team announced that the playground footprint planned in the original design has been expanded significantly to more than double the original size, and took community feedback on three playground design options. All three options feature a 60/40 split between children’s play areas designed for a 2-5 year-old age group and a 5-12 year-old age group. The design options can be seen in the meeting presentation and additional feedback and questions can be sent to Chris Dyer at christopher.dyer@dc.gov.

Cobb Park is anticipated to open Summer 2025. You can sign up for updates about this project by visiting dpr.dc.gov/stakeholder.
